Weird birds
This is the Shoebill bird. It gets its name from the shape of its beak. Even though it was known by ancient Egyptians and Arabs it was only classified in the 19th century.
This is the Cassowary bird. This bird is very dangerous because it is very protective about its territory.
This is the Blue Bird of Paradise. The male uses its spectacular plumage to attract mates. This display is to impress passing females.
This is the Bearded Vulture which inhabits Everest, the Himalayas and other mountainous regions in Europe and Asia. People used to fear that Bearded Vultures would attack lambs and children. The WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) estimates only 10,000 are left.
